Dihexa is an angiotensin IV-derived oligopeptide analogue capped at both ends, an N-hexanoyl group at one and a 6-aminohexanamide at the other, C27H44N4O5 at 504.7, CAS 1401708-83-5. Semax is the ACTH 4-7 core with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail, C37H51N9O10S at 813.9, CAS 80714-61-0. Read the two formulas: Semax has a sulfur and Dihexa has none. That sulfur is the methionine whose sulfoxide is the first impurity to grow in an ageing Semax vial, and it is why Semax is held dark and cold while the capped chain is the more forgiving of the two on a shelf. Both are offered in 5 and 10 mg.
