A tetrapeptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, against a tripeptide, Glu-Asp-Arg, both from the same line of work on pineal extracts, both with nothing to oxidise. Epithalon’s Asp-Gly pair can rearrange to isoaspartate, which is the one impurity a good certificate resolves; Pinealon has no such motif. Both are so hydrophilic that the method has to hold them off the solvent front. Masses 390.4 and 418.4.
