Batch numbers: how they are built and how to verify one

A batch number is the thread that ties a vial to its test record. It should read the same on the vial label, the carton, the packing list and the certificate. If it does not, something has been mixed up.

How ours are built

The form, the month of manufacture, the product code, and the batch sequence. L2607-RT30-0002 reads as lyophilised, made July 2026, product RT30, second batch of that line. Nothing in it is random, so a number can be sanity-checked by eye: a batch of RT30 dated in the future, or a code that is not on the price list, is wrong before anyone looks it up.

What travels with an order

The packing list shows the batch against every line. The certificate of analysis for each batch is released with the shipment or on request. Retained samples of every batch are held for twelve months from dispatch against any query.

Verifying a number

Type any batch number into the certificate page and you are taken to the testing laboratory's verification with the number filled in. The answer comes from the laboratory, not from us. A certificate PDF can also be checked as a file, without the file leaving your device.

When the number does not match

Report it within five business days of delivery with photographs of the carton and the vials, and do not use the batch. A mismatch is treated as a shortage or a wrong shipment and is put right at our cost.
